Adding Assessments to Membership Courses

Assessments can be added to any Category in your Membership courses to allow your contacts to respond to the content. Assessments can be added in the form of Assignments or Quizzes.

Adding an Assessment to your course

  1. On the course outline page, press the + button next to the Category name to which you'd like to add an assessment.
  2. Select 'Add Assessment' from the drop-down menu that appears.

  3. On the pop-up that appears, you will enter the assessment title and select if you prefer to add an Assignment or a Quiz.

Adding an Assignment as an Assessment

  1. Completing the steps above, you'll title and select Assignment on the pop-up. Select Save.
  2. On the Assignment page, you can update the title if needed and use the upper field to enter your Assignment Instructions.

  3. Below the Instructions, you may upload a sample of the final product to assist users with understanding the expectations.
  4. The Confirmation Message you enter will appear once the user has submitted the Assignment.


  5. The buttons in the top right can assist you in completing the preparation of your Assignment.

    1. Update the Draft option to Published so users can see and complete your Assignment.
    2. Use Preview to see your changes as users will see them.
    3. Save frequently!
    4. Delete if you decide not to use your Assignment or want to remove it from the course.

Adding a Quiz as an Assessment

  1. Completing the steps above, you'll title and select Quiz on the pop-up. Select Save.
  2. Under the Quiz Title field, select if it will be required for users to pass this quiz before moving further in the course. You can toggle this setting on or off.

    If you opt to require a passing grade, you must enter the required percentage that is considered a passing grade.

  3. You will also enter the Pass Confirmation Message, which will display when the user completes the quiz will a passing grade.
  4. Below the message field, select the blue button that reads 'Add Question.'


  5. The Question 1 field will appear and you should click on it to add/edit the question.

    1. In Question Type, Single Choice means that the user can only pick one correct answer while Multiple Choice indicates that there may be multiple correct choices.
  6. Select the proper Question Type and enter your question.
  7. Click 'Add Choice' and enter the first possible answer. Continue to add choices until you have all the possible answers you prefer.

    Be sure to select 'Correct Option' below the correct answer(s). If no option is selected as the Correct Option, then any answer given by the person solving the quiz will be treated as the correct answer.



  8. Continue to add questions and options until you have completed your quiz.
    1. You may drag and drop to change the order of the questions.
    2. The three dots to the far left of any question allow you to clone or delete the question.
  9. The buttons in the top right will assist you in completing the setup of your quiz.
    1. Update the Draft option to Published so users can see and complete your Assignment.
    2. Use Preview to see your changes as users will see them.
    3. Save frequently!
    4. Delete if you decide not to use your Assignment or want to remove it from the course.
  10. When users submit a quiz where a passing grade has been marked as required, the quiz shows them their score right away as well as which of their answers were correct and which were not. It does not, though, show them which option was the correct one.

    If a passing grade was not required, the correct answer will display.

    If any explanations were added to the question as to why that option is correct and/or other options are wrong, that explanation is shown at that point as well.


Reviewing Assessment Analytics

  1. After selecting Memberships in the left menu of your GLM account, hover over Courses in the upper menu and select 'Analytics.'
  2. Select 'Assessments.'


  3. The data for all Assessment submissions will display in the list.
  4. You can filter by the Assessments for a specific Product as well as by Results using the filters in the upper right.
  5. Selecting the eye icon to the far right of a submission will allow you view which answers they submitted specifically.
