Tip of the Week #79- Pause or Disable Actions in Workflows

Gym Lead Machine now makes it easy to temporarily pause individual actions inside a workflow—without deleting them or rebuilding your automation. This is perfect for testing, seasonal campaigns, or temporarily stopping a message while keeping the rest of the workflow running smoothly.

Where to Find This Feature

  1. Log in to Gym Lead Machine

  2. Navigate to Automations

    Open the workflow you want to edit

    • Example: a Fitness Campaign or New Lead Workflow

How to Pause an Action in a Workflow

  1. Inside your workflow, locate the specific action you want to disable
    • For example: an SMS asking “What’s your number one fitness goal this year?”
  2. Click the Pause button on that action
  3. Click Save

✅ Once paused, any contact entering the workflow will skip this action entirely, as if it doesn’t exist—while continuing through the rest of the workflow.

How to Re-Enable a Paused Action

  1. Return to the same workflow
  2. Click the Play button on the paused action
  3. Click Save

The action is now fully restored and will trigger normally for new contacts moving forward.

When to Use Paused Actions

Pausing actions is especially useful when you want to:

  • Temporarily stop a text, email, or call task
  • A/B test different messages
  • Adjust messaging for holidays or promotions
  • Troubleshoot workflow behavior without deleting steps
