Tip of the Week #69- How to Cut Down on Spam Leads in Your Forms
If you're starting to notice spam contacts showing up in your pipelines, you're not alone. Here's a quick fix you can apply to all your Gym Lead Machine forms to help stop the junk from coming through.
Step 1: Edit the Form That's Getting Spam
- From your Gym Lead Machine dashboard, go to Sites.
- Click on Forms and open the form where most of the spam leads are coming from. For most gyms, this is usually the main website form.
Step 2: Add a CAPTCHA
- Inside the form builder, look for the Captcha element.
- Drag and drop it into the form — usually at the bottom, right before the submit button.
- This will make visitors check a box that says "I am not a robot" before they can submit.
This small change will filter out most spam bots instantly.
Optional: Use Phone Number Verification
If you're still getting a high number of spam leads — and you're okay with making the form a bit more strict — you can enable phone number verification.
- Click on the Phone field in your form.
- Toggle on Validate Phone.
- This adds a two-step verification that requires users to confirm their phone number.
Heads up: This is a strong filter and only the highest-intent leads will follow through. It can slightly reduce total submissions, so weigh the tradeoff.
Adding the CAPTCHA is the easiest and most effective way to reduce spam without hurting your lead flow. Use phone validation only if you’re dealing with an unusually high amount of fake submissions.
