Tip of the Week #48: Get More Accurate Contact Info from Your Meta Lead Ads
If you're running Meta (Facebook) ads using Lead Forms, there's a simple tweak you can make to collect more accurate contact information from your prospects.
Why This Matters
Meta Lead Forms are popular because they make it super easy for people to submit their info—Meta even auto-fills it for them now. But here’s the catch: Meta uses the contact details from when the user originally created their Facebook account... which could be years old and totally outdated.
Solution: Turn OFF Autofill 👈🏻
To ensure you’re getting current and correct contact info (like their actual phone number and email), you can disable the autofill feature. Here’s how:
🔧 How to Disable Autofill in Meta Lead Forms
- Go into your Meta Business Suite.
- Head into your ad account and select the campaign and ad you're working with.
- Instead of editing an existing lead form, create a new lead form (Meta doesn’t allow you to edit autofill settings on existing ones).
- In the top-right corner of the form builder, click on Settings.
- Toggle OFF the “Autofill” option.
- Finish creating the rest of your form as usual.
💡 Heads-Up:
- Since prospects now have to enter their details manually, your cost per lead might go up slightly.
- However, you’ll likely see better results because the contact info will be more accurate—leading to better follow-ups and conversions.
✅ Final Step: Submit for Integration in Gym Lead Machine
Once your new lead form is ready, just hop over to Gym Lead Machine → Request Forms, and submit a Lead Ad Integration Request. The Kilo team will take it from there and make sure your new form is properly hooked into your workflows.
