Tip of the Week #23- How to use Countdown Timers

Countdown timers are a great way to add urgency to your marketing campaigns. Whether you're working on a landing page or an email campaign, this guide will walk you through creating and embedding a countdown timer that syncs seamlessly between your website and emails.


Step 1: Access Countdown Timers

  1. Go to the Marketing section of your platform.
  2. Look for the Countdown Timers feature. You'll find it at the top of the Marketing dashboard.

Step 2: Create a New Countdown Timer

  1. Click on New to start building your timer.
  2. Choose a template:
    • Browse through the available styles.
    • Select the one that matches your brand or campaign theme.
  3. Click Continue with this template to start customizing.

Step 3: Set Timer Parameters

  1. Choose an end date and time:
    • For example, if it's a Black Friday deal, set the timer to end at midnight on Friday.
    • The timer will automatically update to display days, hours, minutes, and seconds.
  2. Optional: Add links:
    • Set a URL for the timer while it’s active.
    • Add a different URL for when the timer expires (e.g., redirect to a different landing page).

Step 4: Customize the Timer

  1. Go to the Styling section:
    • Adjust colors to match your brand.
    • Choose which elements to display (e.g., hide seconds if you prefer a cleaner look).
  2. Once you're satisfied with the design, click Save.

Step 5: Embed the Timer

  1. Copy the custom code:
    • Click on the Copy Custom Code button to grab the embed code.
  2. Add the timer to your website:
    • Go to the site editor.
    • Select the page where you want the timer to appear.
    • Drag and drop a "Code" element onto the page.
    • Paste the custom code into the code editor and save.
  3. Add the timer to an email:
    • Open your email editor and start a new email or select an existing template.
    • Drag and drop a "Code" element into your email body.
    • Paste the custom code into the editor and save.

Step 6: Test and Launch

  • Check both your website and email campaign to ensure the timer displays correctly.
  • Confirm that the countdown syncs seamlessly between platforms.
