How to Set Up Facebook Business Manager

Please note that Meta is constantly testing different versions of its platform so your interface may look different to the examples shown in this document
- Go to https://business.facebook.com/latest/settings
- Click on “Pages” in the left hand side menu
- If your page is listed, you do not need to do anything else.
- If your page is not listed, click on “Add” in the top right corner and select “Add an existing Facebook Page”
- Enter your page name and select your page.
- If you are unable to add your page it may be under the control of another business portfolio.
To check ownership of your page, go to Facebook.com. In the top right corner click on your profile picture and change to your page identity. Go to https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=profile_access
- If you are not an admin on the business portfolio that owns your page, you will need to request access from the admin to allow you to fully control your page. Email them the following message:

- Go to https://business.facebook.com/latest/settings (Business ID: XXXX; Business Name: XXXXX)
- Check that “THE PAGE” is under Assets--> Pages
- Under people, add YOU as an admin.
- Please give YOU admin access to THE PAGE and any ad accounts associated with this account.
Please note that there are occasions when no one has access to the business portfolio. In this case you can still run ads as long as you have page access. If you can switch into your page’s profile on Facebook, you have access.
- To check on the status of your ad account or to create one go to: (https://business.facebook.com/latest/settings/ad_accounts)
- It is recommended you use a business ad account
- It separates your ad account from your personal accounts. Should you get hacked, banned, or decide to delete your personal ad account, your business ad account will stay active.
- You can have multiple people in your business manage your ad account.
- It is easier to invite collaborators (i.e. ad agencies) to work on your business ad account.
- If you wish to create an ad account, click on the “Add” button on the right and select “Create new ad account” (if you wish to import your personal ad account, select “Request to share an ad account”
- Follow the steps to create an ad account, and add your payment method.
