How to Create a Chat Widget in GLM

Follow these simple steps to create and customize a chat widget for your Gym Lead Machine account. Chat widgets are a great way to engage potential gym members directly from your website.

Step 1: Access the Chat Widget Section

  • Go to "Sites" in your Gym Lead Machine dashboard.
  • At the top, you'll see an option for "Chat Widget". Click on it to start.

Step 2: Create a New Widget

  • In the center of the screen, or in the top-right corner, you'll find a blue "New" button. Click on it to begin creating your widget.
  • Decide which type of widget you'd like to create. The options include:
    • SMS & Email Widget (we’ll use this for the example)
    • Live Chat Widget
    • WhatsApp Widget

Step 3: Name Your Widget

  • At the top of the widget creation screen, you'll have the option to name your widget. This is for internal use only, so be creative! For example, name it something like "Jordan's Gym Chat Widget".

    (Note: This name won’t be visible to website visitors.)

Step 4: Customize the Widget’s Appearance

Now it’s time to personalize your chat widget to match your gym’s branding.

  • Select a style: Pick a color or icon that fits your gym’s theme. For this example, we'll select the blue icon.
  • Edit the welcome message: The default message is “Hi there, have a question? Text us here.” You can edit this to reflect a more personalized message, like “Welcome to Jordan's Gym! How can we help you today?”
  • Add a photo (optional): You can include a photo of one of your team members or skip this step if you prefer not to have one.
  • Choose the widget’s position: Place the widget where you’d like it to appear on your site. The bottom right is a popular option.

Step 5: Adjust the Chat Window Content

Within the chat window, you can further customize key details:

  • Window Title: Give your chat window a title that resonates with your gym's personality.
  • Intro Message: This is the first message visitors will see. Customize it to introduce your gym's services or answer FAQs.
  • Call to Action: Prompt visitors to take action, such as “Get in touch with us!”
  • Agency Branding: You can choose to show or hide the Gym Lead Machine branding by toggling this option on or off.

Step 6: Branding and Messaging

  • Customize Messaging: Edit the messages inside the chat window to suit your gym's style and tone. Make sure they’re clear and welcoming.

Once you've made all your changes, save your widget, and you're ready to engage visitors through your new chat tool!
