Connecting your Google Calendar to Gym Lead Machine (GLM) ensures that your schedule stays up-to-date across platforms, preventing double bookings and enabling seamless scheduling. This guide will walk you through the steps to connect and configure your Google Calendar with GLM.

Overview

Syncing your Google Calendar with GLM allows for two-way synchronization, meaning bookings from both Google Calendar and GLM will be updated in real-time. This integration helps manage your availability and booking efficiently.

Prerequisites

  • Google Account Access: Ensure you have access to the Gmail account associated with the Google Calendar you want to connect.
  • Determine the Required Access Level:
    • Writer's Access: Needed if you want events created in GLM to be added to your Google Calendar.
    • Read-Only Access: Sufficient if you only want to fetch events from Google Calendar into GLM without adding new events.

Getting Started

Step 1: Connecting Your Google Calendar
  • Navigate to Integrations:
    • Go to your account settings in GLM and select Integrations.
  • Sign In with Google:
    • Click on Sign in with Google.

  • Complete Authentication:
    • Follow the prompts to choose your Google account and grant GLM the necessary access.

  • Add Multiple Google Accounts:
    • To connect additional Google accounts, click Sign in with Google again on the integrations page.
  • Disconnecting a Google Account:
    • If you need to disconnect an account, click on the Connected button next to the account name and confirm the removal.

Step 2: Configuring Your Staff Settings

Once your Google account is connected, you’ll need to configure which calendars are linked and which ones are considered conflict calendars.

  • Navigate to Calendar Settings:
    • Go to Settings> My Profile> Calendar Settings in GLM.
  • Select Your Linked and Conflict Calendars:
    • Choose the appropriate Google Calendar to be your Linked Calendar.
    • Set up any necessary Conflict Calendars to manage availability effectively.

Understanding Calendar Configuration

Calendar configuration in GLM involves two key settings: Linked Calendar and Conflict Calendar.

  • Linked Calendar:
    • A Linked Calendar is where all new events created in GLM will be synced. This allows you to view and manage these events directly in Google Calendar or any other third-party calendar.
    • Note: Writer's access is required to set a calendar as a linked calendar.
    • By default, the linked calendar is also added as a conflict calendar, meaning that any event created on this calendar will be visible in GLM, and vice versa.
    • Sync Preferences: You can adjust your synchronization preferences from the Advanced Settings in GLM.
  • Conflict Calendar:
    • A Conflict Calendar is used to prevent double bookings. Any events on a conflict calendar will be synced to GLM, blocking your availability for the event's duration.
    • Availability is blocked only if an event is marked as BUSY on the third-party calendar. Events marked as FREE will still be fetched into GLM, but your availability will remain open.
    • You can add multiple calendars as conflict calendars to prevent overlapping bookings across different platforms.

By setting up and configuring your Google Calendar with GLM, you can streamline your scheduling process and ensure that your availability is always accurately represented across all your calendars.
