Booking Redirect, also known as Google Organic Booking, is a feature in GLM that allows customers to book services directly from a business's Google My Business (GMB) listing. This booking option appears in Google search results or on Google Maps, enabling users to schedule appointments without the need for third-party booking platforms or visiting the business's website. By integrating booking functionality directly into GMB, businesses can offer a seamless, convenient booking experience for potential customers, helping to attract and convert local leads.

Important Note: It typically takes 1-2 weeks for Google to verify the feeds and profiles for the first time. Once verified, the calendars you uploaded in the service feed will appear on Google.

What Do You Need to Get Started?

To enable Google Organic Booking for your business, you need:

  • A Google Business Profile.
  • Properly configured calendar feeds for your services.

How to Set Up Google Organic Booking

Step 1: Set Up the Primary Action Feed (Book Online Button)

  • Create a Booking Page:
    • Set up a Service Menu or a Group of Services within GLM. This page provides a detailed view that helps customers choose services easily.

Note: If you only want your NSI calendar to display, you will need to create a separate group and place your NSI calendar in that group.

  • Upload the Primary Action Feed:
    • Navigate to Calendar Settings > Connections > Organic Booking Redirect.
    • Upload the link that will be associated with the "Book Online" button on your GMB listing. This link should be active, user-friendly, and direct customers to your booking services.
  • The primary feed action link will appear on your GMB profile as the "Book Online" button, making it easy for customers to initiate a booking.

Step 2: Set Up Individual Service Booking (optional)

  • List Your Services:
    • Any calendar created in GLM can be used here and will appear under the Services tab on Google.
  • Upload Individual Service Feeds:
    • Select specific calendars you want to showcase under the Individual Service Booking dropdown. This option lets you control which services are visible for booking directly through Google.
  • Ensure Descriptions are Clear:
    • Make sure the calendars selected have clear, concise descriptions that align with the calendar or service name. This step is crucial for validation by Google.

Tips for Success

  • Clear Descriptions: Ensure your services and calendars have clear, concise descriptions that match their names to facilitate easy understanding and validation by Google.
  • Link Accuracy: Select only service menus or groups for the Primary Action Feed and individual calendars for the Service Links. This prevents errors and ensures accurate service representation.
  • Regular Updates: Keep your service offerings and descriptions up to date to maintain accuracy and relevancy.

How to Disable Google Organic Booking

If you no longer wish to use Google Organic Booking, you can easily disable this feature.

  • Navigate to Calendar Settings:
    • Go to Calendar Settings > Connections Tab.
  • Locate Google Organic Booking:
    • In the Account Connections tab, find the Google Organic Booking section.
  • Disable the Integration:
    • Toggle the switch to disable Google Organic Booking. Once disabled, the system stops uploading any feeds to Google, and customers will no longer see the option to book services directly from your GMB listing.

By using the Google Organic Booking feature effectively, you can enhance your business’s visibility on Google, streamline the booking process for customers, and reduce friction in the customer journey, ultimately increasing your booking rates and attracting more local clients.
