Tip of the Week #85: How to Use Custom Call Dispositions

Custom Call Dispositions in Gym Lead Machine help you track the outcome of your calls and automatically trigger follow-up actions based on what happens during those conversations.

Setting Up Custom Call Dispositions

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Navigate to Phone System
  3. Switch to the Voice tab
  4. Find the Custom Dispositions section

Here, you’ll see a set of default disposition options (usually the first six). You can:

  • Edit existing dispositions
  • Click Add Disposition to create your own custom options

These dispositions represent the outcome of a call that can be used later (e.g., Not Interested, Booked Appointment, Call Back Later).

How Dispositions Work During Calls

After you complete an outbound call, Gym Lead Machine will prompt you to select a disposition.

This selection tells the system:

  • What happened on the call
  • What should happen next

Automating Actions Based on Call Outcomes

One of the most powerful features of dispositions is the ability to trigger workflows automatically.

Example: Marking a Lead as “Not Interested”

Let’s say a lead tells you they’re not interested.

Here’s how you can automate your follow-up:

  1. Go to Automation → Workflows
  2. Create (or open) a workflow
  3. Set the Trigger to:
    • Call Status → Call Details
  4. Add a filter:
    • Custom Disposition = Not Interested
  5. Add an action:
    • Enable DND (Do Not Disturb) for all channels
    • Remove from any lead workflows
    • Add tags
    • Etc.

Now, anytime you select Not Interested after a call, that contact will automatically be marked as DND so they won’t receive further messages.

What This Looks Like in Action

  1. Make an outbound call to a contact
  2. The call ends
  3. Select a disposition (e.g., Not Interested)
  4. Click OK

Once selected:

  • The system logs the outcome which can be viewed under Reporting —> Call Report
  • The connected workflow is triggered
  • Your automation (like DND) is applied instantly

More Ways to Use Call Dispositions

Custom dispositions aren’t just for filtering out leads. You can use them to:

  • Trigger follow-up reminders or tasks
  • Schedule another manual call automatically
  • Assign leads to team members
  • Track sales/booking outcomes and call performance
